Don Sanche

At the age of 13 years Franz Liszt composed his one and only opera. "Don Sanche, ou le château d'amour" was based on the libretto by Emmanuel Théaulon and de Rance, the first performance was on 17th Oktober 1825 at the Pariser Grand Opéra. The score was supposed to be lost, but it was re-discovered at the beginning of the 20th century.

As a contribution to the Liszt-year 2011 the score of "Don Sanche" will be published, so that this work of the young Liszt will be acknowledged to a wide public.
